• Neither Devil nor Death...I am just a Murder Ran (original name) was once a normal laughing guy. His parents were heads of “Fujimiya” a filiar of “Takatori Corp.” He loved his sweet sister, Aya (she’s the real one) and his father until the day his family met the non-accidental tragedy. They are two versions about what happened.
Manga Version. one day , an explotion get in the Fujimiya building and killed Ran’s parents and Aya-chan his sister fall in coma. After that, Ran begin to investigate until he bump with the self-called Kritiker organization, heading by Persia. They offers him two choices. One, he became part of Kritiker and they will take care of Aya-chan or….he dies. Guess wich one he picked?
Anime Version. Same day, Ran and Aya came back to their home only to find out that their parents were killed . Aya-chan gets out the house and resulted hit-and-ran by Reiji’s car so she finally get comatose.
So he joined the group for two reasons. One, to avenge the cruel fate that his family had met in the arms of the head Takatori clan and Omi's 'father' (spoil sorry), Reiji Takatori. And two, so he could get his sister alright who stands on the most expensive room in one of the best hospital in Tokyo, there you understand why he likes money (a very good reason to).
Meanwhile Ran change his name to Aya , adopting his sister's name 'Aya' and wore one of her earring since then (yeah, he’s not gay ¬¬#), after this there was no more of a normal laughing Ran guy but the bitter, an always quiet and mysterious Aya who is consumed is rage and great desire to destroy the very guy who destroyed his family, the Takatori.
